• Textile Design is an exploration of surface, texture, colour, materials and construction. The course offers a diverse range of creative skills including fashion, interior and accessory design.  Experimentation into techniques and processes includes stitch, print, dye, and garment construction, to develop understanding of shape, form, pattern, texture and colour.

Research methods including drawing, collecting and mood boards are used to generate a wealth of ideas. From these mood boards you then go on to create samples, design ideas and final pieces either Fashion or Interiors. A mood board should give you a colour palette for your design ideas.

Create a mood board based on a colour palette of either: bright, pastel or monochrome. It can include just about anything — photography, designs or illustrations, colour palettes, textures, descriptive words — anything that helps you to create something exciting.
